Brian M. Collie

Brian lead’s the firm’s real estate practice, with an emphasis on the intersection of business law and real estate. He regularly represents clients on commercial real estate purchases and commercial leases reviews, and he advises businesses on everything from startup entity formation to ongoing corporate governance issues. His practice areas include:

Brian is a Summerville native who, prior to law school, provided consulting services for start-up companies while working at the Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Clemson University. He served as compliance analyst and equities trader at Automated Trading Desk, a division of Citigroup, and was an associate at the law firm of Manaker, Cipolla and Associates before joining Buxton & Collie, LLC. He is a co-author of the 2018 SC Bar publication, South Carolina Business Law Handbook: A Practical Guide for Business Owners, Entrepreneurs and Their Counsel.

In the Community:

Brian serves the community in several hands-on ways. Twice a month he reads to his mentee through the iBeam program at a local elementary school. He is an active member of The Palmetto Society, participating in their fundraisers throughout the community. He and his wife, Lauren, live in Mount Pleasant with their two young daughters. Brian is an avid Clemson football fan and the entire family enjoys rooting for their Tigers.
